Into your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our friends.

For all the victims of Sandy, especially Jody Alan Davis, who was killed in North Carolina when a tree fell in front of him, downed by high winds, and he couldn't stop his truck in time. alexcat went to high school with his mother. Please remember his family and friends in your prayers.

For the thousands of people around the world affected by hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes and fires.

For everyone grieving the loss of a partner, friend, or pet. May they be comforted.

elfscribe5's husband passed away Thursday, September 6. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Nienna's friend, Patty, passed away this week. Please keep her in your prayers.

__wilderness__'s SO, A, has a slow growing brain tumor in his left frontal lobe. It will be fatal but the life expectancy ranges between worst case 12 months or best case 40 years.

alexcat's friend Jim's wife, Sandra just finished chemo for breast cancer and is going to be doing radiation soon. Her prognosis so far is good.

catwench's FIL, Arch, is caring for his wife, Momele, who has rapidly advancing Alzheimer's. It's a very difficult thing to do, so please keep him in your prayers.

chaotic_binky's father has had surgery for the lymphoma. The doctors think they have caught it all but are going to keep an eye on him rather than subject him to a clean up course of chemo. He is going back to the hospital soon to see if the disease has progressed or stayed the same.

charliecochrane would like to say thank you for prayers leading to successful outcomes. They recruited at one school and have a creative plan in place at the other one, but can still use a bit more prayer.

chloe_amethyst's son is in serious need of prayer. He is being treated very badly at school.

erviniae's mother is having issues with Myasthenia Gravis. They can't find the right combo of medicine and her eyes are still horribly droopy and affecting her vision.

erviniae's brother, Bill, has had an abnormal EKG and is going for further tests.

minuial_nuwing's mother-in-law is not doing well. Prayer is appreciated. On the good new side, minuial_nuwing's sister-in-law is doing very well and is on a long term chemo agent.

mistressminx_13 is having a difficult time with a couple of bulging discs that are causing a lot of pain.

mistressminx_13's co-worker's wife's cancer is back (she is a breast cancer survivor), but unfortunately it is being very aggressive and they don't give her much time. They have 2 little ones - ages 3 and 1.

Another co-worker of mistressminx_13's, Sue's husband - has restrictive lung disease and nodules on his lungs. There isn't any cure, but he is on breathing treatments to slow things as much as possible.

mommabear's daughter is in need of prayer. She is very troubled and recently tried to commit suicide.

mylodon's friend Edith is in need of prayer.

perkyandproud's grandmother is 96 and had a heart attack a couple of months ago. She is home and doing much better. Continuing prayer is appreciated.

samtyr's friend K wrote another friend by snail mail and the letter read (in part) "By the time you read this, I will be dead...." K. lives in 'Greater' LA and she was faced with eviction; she said she was just too old, too sick and too tired to keep fighting such things. They have been unable to find out K's status.

skonichek is dealing with horrible headaches and can use prayer.

tuxedo_elf's father-in law was airlifted back home last week to a hospital closer to home home. Please keep him in your prayers.

nienna_weeper's list:

Nienna's choir member, Corbett's, surgery for prostate cancer went well - they believe the tumor was contained. He has been undergoing chemo and radiation and is doing remarkably well. Elaine, Corbett's wife, is also in need of prayer. Evelyn had her surgery in mid-April to remove tumors, but it does not look good. She is in for some big guns chemo. Even though she had an ovarian-hysterectomy 10 years ago, the cells in the tumors indicate epithelial cancer.

Nancie has started chemo. She is tolerating it pretty well, although she has lost her hair. She is in good spirits and back singing with the choir!

Lucy, age 2, diagnosed with Leukemia June 22, 2012.

Tanner, age 13. Doctors have found tumors behind his optic nerve and behind his knee. He had surgery on May 21.

Nienna's friend Terry had a Transient Ischemic Attack the end of October. She is scared and in for tons of tests, and the meds are wreaking havoc on her.

phyncke's List:

CS, Phyncke's good friend and colleague passed away October 18, losing her struggle with breast cancer.

D*** has Parkinson's Disease. He's had to retire and can use prayer.

Phyncke's friend Debbie needs prayer. She is caring for her mother who has Alzheimer's and an ill brother, all the while working and trying to keep up the house.


Countries



Venezuela - media suppression and repression of freedoms.

Pakistan, where political violence and suicide attacks are creating high death tolls.

Guinea: Terrible demonstrations resulting in a hundred odd deaths; the military-government basically opened fire at the protesters two weeks ago (Sept end). Many people are just cowering at home now. The government is expected to take drastic measures against the political opposition, especially now that the unions have announced a "break to mourn the dead".

Somaliland (not to be confused with Somalia): political violence threatens after national elections were delayed. Actually political violence threatens in so many parts of Africa...

illuminating_dragon's cousin Vera (who's also her mother's adopted sister), has COPD and unoperable kidney stones and is recovering from septicemia.
sigsauer40's mother. Her health is poor and she is in a lot of pain.

From skonichek: Little baby Kenny was born with cataracts over both eyes, and has glaucoma which has damaged his vision. His parents also need a lot of prayer.
spunk's grandfather (who is 90) is struggling with a form of dementia and in a nursing home.
spunk's mother is dealing with consistent health issues: fibromyalgia and another disease that is currently in remission, and mental health issues.
spunk is dealing with GI issues and going through testing. She also needs prayer for other disorders.
thewenchywiccan's step-father, Bill has serious heart issues. Her overly stressed mother can use prayer as well.
weepingnaiad's Mom is off of oxygen during the day, so she's improved a lot.

Would you please add my friend Terry? She had a TIA last week and even though she's doing okay and on a butt load of new meds, she is scared and the meds are wreaking havoc, side effect-wise. She has more tests ahead of her.

They are... and she is a nurse practitioner so she knows all the ramifications. She's one of my cantors and I've known her since I was a little girl. Her dad was my aunt's doc and we used to play together when I visited my aunt on the farm... :(

My grandmother (who is going to be 96 next month) is doing much better. She got two shunts put in and is home again. We went up and saw her on Sunday. She was a bit tired, but was just bright and fun as ever. I love her so much :-) Thank you all for the prayers!
