As always, please let me know of anyone I need to add or delete. I admit to scanning and filtering my flist because it's so large, so please help me out if I missed anyone.

Into your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our friends.

May those who are cold and without a warm place to rest find one tonight.

We pray for all victims of human trafficking and slavery.

We pray that all students, teachers and all who work at schools everywhere will be kept safe.

We pray for students taking their exams and those who are embarking on the journey of college and university life.

We pray for the thousands of people around the world affected by storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes and fires.

We pray for everyone grieving the loss of a partner or friend. May they be comforted.

samtyr's cousin's Ellen's apartment has flooded and it will be 2 months before it's livable. Prayers for a room in the hotel she needs to stay at to open up are desperately needed!

keiliss is need of healing and support. Please keep her in your prayers.

anorienparker 's co-worker, G, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She was in an accident a few years ago and is blind in one eye, takes care of her severely disable husband, diagnosed with COPD at the end of last year, and with a large tumor in her breast last week. Please pray for her healing and strength.

alexcat's friend Jim's wife, Sandra just finished chemo for breast cancer and is going to be doing radiation soon. Her prognosis so far is good.

athgarvan's nephew (40) had a tumour on the brain ten years ago. He had surgery to remove it. It returned, however, and this time was too deep to have surgery. With care and attention and prayer he is still living on his own and managing fine. Please pray that things may continue so and that his parents may be at peace.

catwench's FIL, Arch, is caring for his wife, Momele, who has rapidly advancing Alzheimer's. It's a very difficult thing to do, so please keep him in your prayers.

chaotic_binky's friend is being bullied at work and suffering extreme stress because of it, and the bullying is getting worse. The false allegations are so vicious that she could lose her job, simply because she has no way of disproving them. Her father is terminally ill, which is adding to her burden. She is being moved to another ward for a few months. She is still under a lot of pressure and it is beginning to affect her ability to work. Of course the allegations and rumours will follow her. Please keep her in your prayers.

Another of chaotic_binky's friends needs an urgent heart operation but the surgeon keeps postponing it

deathangelgw's dearest friend, Jess, is getting sicker. Her kidneys are failing and they are not sure why.

erviniae's mother is having issues with Myasthenia Gravis. They can't find the right combo of medicine and her eyes are still horribly droopy and affecting her vision.

erviniae's brother is suffering with bouts of severe dizziness.

erviniae's friend Kim is hoping for a baby and just had her second in vitro.

fimbrethiel's husband is suffering from Lyme disease and can use a lot of prayer.

jaiden_s's friend Kim's son, Hunter, is five and was just diagnosed with Duchenne MD...the worst kind. Please pray for Hunter and his family.

mylodon's friend Edith is in need of prayer, as well as Edith's husband, Jim.

noadvertising's mom has advanced oesophageal cancer. She is relatively stable at the moment, but please keep her in your prayers. Her osteoporosis is quickly worsening. She can´t sleep during night because of the steady pain.

perkyandproud's friend Damietta (LadyD) is doing better but can still use prayers.

perkyandproud's nephew Alex is having difficulties again. He stops taking his meds when he feels better, which leads to problems. Please keep him, as well as Perky's Mom and sister in your prayers.

pfodge's mother Yvonne, has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the 3rd time. This time it has spread throughout her body and into the bones. She is 76 years old and can not undergo traditional chemo therapy. She will be taking a chemo type pill, which will hopefully slow down the spread but will not kill the cancer.

semyaza's friend and godmother, Elena, has a small tumour on one lung. Please keep her in your prayers.


skonichek is dealing with horrible headaches and can use prayer.

nienna_weeper's list:


Nancie had surgery this past Friday - flexible nephroscopy to sever the connection between the kidneys and the bladder because the tumor has encroached so seriously on the bladder she needed to have a different way to eliminate. She will have a bag now.

Please pray for Nienna's friend Kenny, who was just diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. She is very close to this family. Kenny is 45.

Mary Ann, who has ovarian cancer, is not doing well. She is teaching again, but will need to start chemo again soon.

Alyx's eye has no sign of infection after she recently had a MRI. The doctors believe she has some sort of chronic ocular migraine which causes her to lose the sight in her eye.

Nancie's cancer has returned. She is back to chemo and radiation and had surgery recently to sever the connection between her kidneys and bladder because the tumor had seriously encroached.

Lucy, age 3, diagnosed with Leukemia June 22, 2012. Her hair is growing back. She looks well - and Nienna believes her chemo is done. Please continue to pray for her.

Kellen is the 16 year old son of a friend and was hit in the temple with a baseball April 11. He had a brain bleed and required emergency surgery. He is now home!!

Phyncke's friend Debbie needs prayer. She is caring for her mother who has Alzheimer's and an ill brother, all the while working and trying to keep up the house.
Phyncke's parents are thinking of making some major changes as they progress into their more elder years.
Phyncke's friend D is starting a new job. May she succeed in her new position.
Phyncke's friend R is recovering from an injury.

nuinzilien and mdarkdreamer's lovely little calico cat, Miko is grieving the loss of her companion, Mouse, recently, and her tooth allergy is flaring up again, making it difficult to eat and maintain weight.

nienna_weeper's kitty Sally Skittles could use some prayers. She is experiencing chronic upper respiratory distress and nothing seems to help. She is 16.

From skonichek: Little baby Kenny was born with cataracts over both eyes, and has glaucoma which has damaged his vision. His parents also need a lot of prayer. Kenny's last surgery was October 31.

weepingnaiad's Mom is off of oxygen during the day, so she's improved a lot.

I really appreciate this, Agie. I'm of indeterminate spirituality. I don't know what I believe in, really, but something tells me there is something or someone out there. Lauriel's faith brought her so much strength and solace in the final months of her life. I believe that in the end, it doesn't matter if there is a God, or Buddha, or whatever people choose to believe in, or if there is nothing at all. What matters is that in believing in something we learn empathy, kindness, and we find the strength to go forward when we think we can't.

Your beliefs have led you to do this small, but very important and very kind thing. And though I don't know you well, I am sure this is not the only thing you do for others. Lauriel would have really appreciated that you, who never met her and only knew of her through someone you also have never met, did this for her. I believe she would also say that the spirit in which you do this is something she admires and believes in very much.

So, thank you.

You're welcome, although I confess I think I started it for more selfish reasons. Thankfully, it's grown over the years to be something more. I started it as a means to capture all the things going on that people posted about. I felt so helpless to do anything but prayer for them, and then was so afraid I'd forget to pray because so many awful things were impacting the lives of my friends every day, and new things would overshadow the old. I couldn't be happier that it's turned into a place to keep an old group of friends still connected; a place to share, a place to grieve, a place to celebrate, and a place to remember.

I am with Larien on this - my upbringing was within the Catholic faith but life has opened my eyes to the human failings of those who were meant to guide us. I now have some faith and spirituality even if I acknowledge no formal religion. Agie, your efforts and kindness in maintaining the prayer list are indicative of your selflessness and humanity - may your efforts be rewarded.

So my thoughts and best wishes are with all those on this list. And in a more minor, yet somewhat selfish way,I would ask that you think good thoughts for my daughter and other young people who are starting their school-leaving examinations next week. Good luck to them all!

Thank you, Eawen. I, too, was brought up in the Catholic faith and will always count myself one, but I find that my life experience has taught me to question some things and quietly oppose others.

What a great idea to add the kids going away to college and taking their exams. I've done that.
